About Talk Nerdy to Me

Demystifying cloud computing, FinOps, and AI through practical insights and clear communication.

Our Mission

Talk Nerdy to Me exists to decode the complex worlds of cloud computing, FinOps, and artificial intelligence — making them accessible to everyone without the corporate jargon. We believe that technical excellence and clear communication are not mutually exclusive.

Through practical guides, automation strategies, and cost-saving tactics, we help cloud professionals and teams optimize their infrastructure, reduce waste, and stay ahead of industry trends.

Our Philosophy

Cloud learning should be accessible, not elitist

If you need a PhD to understand your cloud bill, someone is doing it wrong

Funny, not fuzzy

Humor makes hard concepts stick better than corporate speak

Nerdy, not noisy

We love the technical details, but we will not overwhelm you with jargon

Honest, not hyped

We will tell you when something sucks and when it is genuinely helpful

Community-driven, not vendor-led

Your experience matters more than any sales pitch

Value-first, not cost-obsessed

Sometimes spending more money is the right answer

Meet the Founder

The Story Behind Talk Nerdy to Me

I founded Talk Nerdy to Me because I kept running into the same problem over and over: brilliant engineers, architects and financial analysts would get lost in the fog of cloud terminology and pricing models. As a Cloud & Tooling Platform Owner with a FinOps certification, I saw firsthand how multi‑cloud adoption and variable billing models were stressing teams. People were hungry for practical guidance but were stuck wading through vendor jargon and piecemeal tutorials.

My goal was simple: demystify cloud computing, FinOps and AI with clear language, tangible examples and a bit of fun. Instead of dry whitepapers, I wanted to offer analogies (like LEGO bricks for landing zones), share scripts that actually save money and time, and build a community where we could all learn together. I started the site as a small blog of automation tips and cost‑savings tricks. As readership grew, it evolved into a fully fledged playbook library, a FinOps hub and a resource repository.

Mathieu also runs CloudCostChefs.com (FinOps dashboards) and NerdyChefs.ai (AI automation).
